About Me

My interest in writing developed shortly after I was charged by a bull elephant in the Okavango Delta… So began my application to NYU’s graduate journalism school, the program that launched my career in print and digital publishing. In the 25 years since, I’ve been on the mastheads of some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Men’s Health and Popular Science, and bylined articles for many others—Runner’s World, Discover, Vice, and Esquire among them. Although I have a knack for fitness writing—a beat supported by a personal trainer certification—my portfolio also spans such topics as food, travel, nutrition, health, wellness, and style. I’ve explored Asia’s culinary hot zones with three-star Michelin chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. I’ve ridden bulls with world champion rider Gary Leffew. And I’ve tangled with Turkish oil wrestlers amidst the sand-swept ruins of the Ottoman Empire. You’ll find those adventures and more in the “Articles” section. Enjoy, and don’t hesitate to drop me a line with tales or anecdotes of your own. Good stories should always be shared.
